Disasters Emergency Committee Announces Corporate Partnership with Signal AI to Leverage AI-powered Media Monitoring for Real-time Insights During Times of Humanitarian Crisis

LONDON / NEW YORK – 5 February 2020 – The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), a committee that brings together 14 leading UK aid charities during times of humanitarian crisis, have announced Signal AI as their media monitoring and intelligence partner.

As a corporate partner, Signal AI will be a member of DEC’s Rapid Response Network (RRN). The RRN provides a way for key UK organisations to play a leading role in the work the DEC undertake, by translating the groundswell of concern into a collaborative, effective, and efficient public appeal. It is currently made up of broadcasters in television and radio, major high street banks , alongside a range of corporate organisations that work with the DEC.

In joining the RRN, Signal AI will provide access to their media intelligence platform. Alongside other organisations they will help to make the process of responding appropriately and effectively to sudden and overwhelming events of humanitarian disaster clear and simple.

The media monitoring platform will deliver valuable AI-powered real-time search, automated alerts and curated reporting, that will allow the DEC unlimited access to news sources and press clippings during times of crisis. With data sourced from international traditional and online media, broadcast and blogs, translated in real-time from over 100 languages, the platform will empower the DEC with a new level of agility when dealing with unpredictable and fast moving crises.

“The DEC is very pleased to embark on a partnership with Signal AI. We considered a number of platforms for media monitoring, but Signal stood out to us as being dynamic, forward thinking and keen to offer us a package that would best suit our needs. Their use of AI technology enables us to have unlimited clippings during busy times without extra cost and the flexibility of controlling our media monitoring service from our desktops allows valued agility to keep up with unpredictable and fast moving crises,” said, Nicola Peckett, Director of Communications at the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). “We can see that Signal is a rising player in the media monitoring world and we are excited to be on board with them as they grow their remit and clientele. Their enthusiasm, drive and customer service have proved to be of a high standard and we are already seeing the benefits of this partnership.”

“Signal AI is very excited to announce our partnership with the Disasters Emergency Committee. DEC’s work reacting and coordinating responses to humanitarian crises is absolutely essential and the work we will help them undertake as a corporate partner in the Rapid Response Network (RRN) is incredibly important to us,” David Benigson, CEO and Co-Founder, Signal AI. “Working with us, DEC will be able to leverage our AI-powered media intelligence platform for real-time access to international print, digital, and broadcast media automatically translated from over 100 languages. This will further empower them to make informed decisions during a time of crisis.”
